Planting Trees in Borneo Island
by
Did you know that Borneo is the third largest island in the world?
Borneo is a beautiful island located in the Malay Archipelago, renowned for its vast rainforests and wetlands. Unfortunately, the natural environment and the indigenous people living on the island have suffered greatly due to over-development and pollution over the past few decades.
In fact, around 56% of the island's rainforest has been destroyed, which has had a devastating impact on the island's unique ecosystem.
Plant of Illipe Butter In Danger
One of the most significant losses has been the decline of the Shorea Stenoptera tree, which is found only on Borneo and is now considered endangered.
This tree is the source of Illipe butter, a natural plant-based ingredient renowned for its moisturizing and healing properties that have been used in various cosmetic products for decades.
At mixsoon, we are deeply committed to preserving the natural environment of Borneo and supporting the indigenous people who live there.
To help alleviate the situation, we have pledged to plant trees in the name of mixsoon when purchasing ingredients for Ilipe Butter.
These trees are grown on the island of Borneo, where we source the Ilipe butter used in our lip balm.
By doing so, we hope to help restore the natural environment and support the local communities who work hard to improve their livelihoods and well-being.
